Methodist minister William Thompson (William Lundigan) moves to a rural town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia with his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Susan Hayward). The townspeople are skeptical about the new preacher, and Mary Elizabeth has a difficult time adjusting to life in the mountains after growing up in the city. But as William helps his congregation through difficult times, including a deadly epidemic, he proves himself to be a passionate and a reliable pastor. The movie was filmed in Georgia and several people in our area were extras for the film.
